Boxee and You
When people talk about a media center they are refering to something that can take all their media (music, videos, pictures) and have one central location for them all. Boxee is the ultimate, and free! Boxee goes one step further and not only will work with media you have locally but will stream from online sources such as Hulu.com and ABC networks. You no longer have to rely on torrenting your favorite shows. Now if you want to, I suggest running TED (Torrent Episode Downloader) and Boxee together.TED allows you to find an RSS stream (most popular shows already have one setup up for TED) and have it automatically download the torrent, and thus the show. Setup Boxee to view your download folder for media and tada, on demand shows. The social network in Boxee is not much value to me. The part I look forward to is Monoprice.com. They are releasing a mini display port to HDMI cable. Thats right soon my laptop will be my media center and go where ever I go. Gotta love the information age. I’ll do a full writeup and review one the cable is ready for shipment and I get one.
